I try to avoid posting very much first-person material about myself on Wild Muse, because frankly there are far more fascinating things going on in the universe than me. But this weekend, I’m in the thick of it. Smack dab in the middle of the most interesting thing going on in my neck of the Carolinas. ScienceOnline 2010, a science blogging conference, commenced in Research Triangle Park last night. I spent the day learning about podcasting, touring the N.C. Museum of Natural Sciences (read about that here). and listening to Michael Specter (of The New Yorker fame) give opening remarks. I’ve met at least eight people in person that I’ve chatted with on Twitter in the past year (you can find me as “tdelene” on Twitter). Some of these tweeple in real life are: Christine Ottery, Darlene Cavelier, David Dobbs, Hilary Maybum, Elia Ben-Ari, and Ben Landis. I briefly met SciCurious of Neurotopia too, though it was too hectic of a moment to really say hello. More later!
